A wallet you stopped using in 2024 can still have tokens assigned to it that were never sent. Most drops now make you claim them yourself, and Bitget's guide puts the value left idle this way in the billions. Allow about twenty minutes per address. By the end you'll know whether an address has anything waiting and whether the portal will still pay it out. Before you start, know this: every check on this page needs only a public address. Nothing here asks for a seed phrase or a signature until you actually claim.

What you need

  • Every old public address you can find

EVM and Solana addresses are both worth checking. Old wallets were often used on more than one chain.

  • A browser

The checkers below don't need a wallet extension connected.

  • The old wallet's keys, but only for the final step

Don't get them out until you have confirmed the claim page on the protocol's own channels.

  • A little of the chain's gas token

You only need this if you find something and decide to claim it.

The steps

  • Open your old MetaMask and copy each account's address

Every account in the list is a separate address. When this has worked, you'll have a written list of them, not just the first one.

  • Export your exchange withdrawal history

Every address you withdrew to was a wallet you once controlled. Add any address that isn't already on your list.

  • Restore any old seed phrase in wallet software

Use a wallet app you trust. Never type a seed phrase into a website. When this has worked, the restored accounts will show their addresses, and you can add those to the list.

  • Paste each address into Drops.bot

[Drops](https://www.drops.bot/guides/how-to-check-for-airdrops) checks one address against 413+ tracked drops across 40+ networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Cosmos, Sui and Aptos. When this has worked, you'll see a list of matches or a clean result.

  • Run the same address through DefiLlama's checker

[DefiLlama's checker](https://defillama.com/airdrops) takes an EVM or Solana address, needs no connection, and uses a different database. When this has worked, you'll have a second set of results to compare with the first.

  • Open the address on a block explorer

Use Etherscan for Ethereum or BscScan for BNB Chain. Older drops were often sent to wallets automatically, and airdrop deposits usually look different from ordinary transfers in the transaction list.

  • Find each hit's claim page through the protocol's official account

Check the date on the announcement before you trust it. Old posts resurface in search results.

  • Connect the old wallet and claim

Read every signature request before you approve it. When this has worked, the tokens will show in the wallet and on the explorer.

Here is what dated reporting says about portals as of this week. These dates come from news roundups, not from the protocols' own posts, so check each one on the portal itself.

Sonic (S), Seasons 1 and 2. The Cryptonomist reports that Sonic Labs disclosed on April 3, 2026 that about 32.69 million S were still unclaimed. The deadline is October 15, 2026. After that date, anyone can trigger a burn of what is left, and nothing goes to a treasury or a later drop.

Kraken's Beldex and Humanity replacement tokens. The withdrawal deadline passed on September 25, 2026 at 14:00 UTC. Liquidation of unwithdrawn balances runs September 28 to October 2, according to CryptoTicker.

Grass Stage 2. Open until January 22, 2027.

Plume Season 2 and dappOS. Both are open with no published end date.

Holoworld AI (HOLO). Closed in November 2025, despite a September 9 post that is easy to mistake for this year's.

The case for waiting is that open-ended claims like Plume's give you time. I don't buy it, and CryptoTicker puts it well: "a claim without a published end date is not a claim with unlimited time." Sonic's burn shows what the end of a window looks like.

If it did not work

The window has most likely closed. AirdropAlert [describes three outcomes](https://airdropalert.com/blogs/what-happens-to-unclaimed-airdrop-tokens/) for unclaimed tokens: burned, returned to the treasury, or redistributed. It also puts the share that typically goes unclaimed at 5 to 20%. Some contracts were never written to sweep leftover tokens back to the project, so those tokens simply stay locked. Either way, there's nothing left to claim.

Check the explorer first, because older drops may have landed automatically. Some programs also required a registration step before the claim opened. GRVT's registration closed July 27, 2026 and Plume's closed May 27, 2026. Anyone who missed either one forfeited their allocation, however active the wallet was.

Close the tab. Drops' guide is blunt about it: "If a site asks for your seed phrase or private key to 'validate' your wallet, it is a scam." Claim links from DMs, social replies and paid ads get the same treatment. For how a read-only lookup differs from a signature, see [whether connecting is safe](/is-it-safe-to-connect-your-wallet-to-an-airdrop-checker/).

You now have every old address audited and a dated list of what is still claimable. Not every checker keeps past drops, and which ones do is covered in our review of eligibility checkers. Drops' Telegram alerts will also flag any saved address that becomes eligible later.
